Well I didn't think I'd see the day when a school that revolves around magic will not be able to use magic.
Now this whole no magic ordeal is temporary, and yes it's unfortunate but why should one give up on practices? Yes magic is used in almost everything we do, and quidditch is a big part of that. That's pretty obvious. So I understand it is quite a nuisance without it since some have grown up around magic
But I speak directly to those involved in quidditch. Honestly how would you even play quidditch if you're not even physically fit? Can even hit a bludger if you dont have good enough arm strength? Or have good reflexes to catch a quaffle from scoring for the other team? Or have enough flexibility to catch a snitch? Or good hand and eye coordination when tossing quaffles into a goal. When playing a sport you obviously have to have physcial strength. So why dont we think of this as physical conditioning for you quidditch players? Even without magic, you can practice. And it'll help. Quidditch minus magic doesn't mean the world isn't going to end. And for those who are physically fit, then good for you but there probably is something to improve. Or you could get better with this conditioning.
So I'm just throwing that out to you all who are in quidditch. I understand it's not the best practice but it's not like we can order some non-magical quidditchstimulator for everyone. I dont think that would be possible. Anyways let's just cross our fingers that we'll be able to use magic again once. Especially before the first game. I'll talk to the headmistress and see if I can get any information how long it will be. But I'm looking forward to see how you all play. If you have questions about practice and such, just dont be afraid to ask me then.
And this is out to a few who think 'I wont know what I'm doing'. Well let me inform you, I do. I've had a hell lot much more experience than you have right now. Former captain and former professional quidditch player? Hm. I wonder if that really equals to inexperience. |
